To get to Port Dickson, the best way is by self drive. This is perhaps because unless you are very familiar with the public transport here will not be a feasible option as you might get lost in around the town. Therefore driving here would be the best way through the North-South Expressway. Most major cities in around Malaysia are connected by the expressway. From the north, you will come from cities like Butterworth, Ipoh and Kuala Lumpur, while from the south, you will come from Malacca and Johor Bahru and taking the Port Dickson interchange. Otherwise if you are taking the trunk roads, you can do so by coming in through from the capital of the state Negeri Sembilan. Train services are available until Seremban which from there you will have to take a taxi or a bus into Port Dickson. You can also inform the hotel where you will be staying with which they will be able arrange for pick up services which will take you straight to your accommodation premises. In around Port Dickson there are public buses that will ferry you in and out of the town to nearby towns like Seremban and Lukut but you must be sure to know what buses to take in order not to get lost while travelling around there. Once in Port Dickson, you can go around the public beaches that are scattered all over town. You will be able to identify the public beaches by virtue of the crowd there. In around these beaches, there are also public amenities like toilets, changing rooms, shower and such for the benefit of everyone there. Note that at some public beaches it can be dirty and the water might be polluted due to inconsistent preservation efforts by the authorities as well as the public here. So you have to be a bit careful when spending your time there. |
